COBAL is designed to increase engagement and fun by promoting closer and more sustained racing with AI opponents, and requires no tuning or configuration by the player.

COBAL began at Barcelona GP when it launched on 2 October 2026. On , the journey expanded to Spa-Francorchamps, bringing calibrated offline GT3 racing to the full Spa circuit. On , six Race Sim Studio GT-M cars joined the grid. That brings the choice to 17 supported GT3 cars, with all of them available at both circuits. More features, circuits and cars will follow, with community input on development priorities.

About

My name is Thomas Brauer, and I develop COBAL with the goal of making offline races against AI drivers in Assetto Corsa as engaging and as fun as possible.

I am a computer scientist specializing in physics for virtual reality systems and artificial intelligence. I have been involved in sim racing since the early 1990s, and I have been an active Assetto Corsa player since its release.

COBAL is born of a love for original Assetto Corsa and its community. This project is my way of giving back, combining my research background with a long-standing passion for sim racing. It started with Barcelona GP at launch on 2 October 2026. On 9 October, I added Spa-Francorchamps. On 10 October, six RSS GT-M cars followed, bringing more of the community's favourite GT3s into the same close racing at both circuits.
